National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) joint chapter at Lehman College exists to increase the number of underrepresented students who are thriving in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines like Computer Science and Computer Information Systems. We are a combination of the two largest minority engineering organizations in the country - the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
Jointly, the organizations provide Lehman students with unprecedented support, resources, and networks to take our careers to the next level.
Our members have earned internships and full-time offers at major corporations like Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, Capital One, General Motors, and many more. Our members landed many of these jobs at NSBE and SHPE regional or national conferences - some on the spot! We are incredibly proud of the powerful alumni network we have built at Lehman College. Come join us at our weekly meetings.
